In this issue of Beyond the Journal, readers will see the above graphic on the opening page of most articles in PDF format.

The numbers represent the 10 NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards that define quality for child care, preschool, and kindergarten programs. They indicate which of the standards are addressed through the content of the article. This notation identifies information relevant to early childhood educators who are engaged in program quality improvement and/or seeking NAEYC Accreditation. For an introduction to the NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and Accreditation Criteria online, go to www.naeyc.org/accreditation/performance_criteria/program_standards.html.
